WELCOME!
We're glad to welcome guests to our services! Please take a moment and get a yellow attendance card out of the holder attached to the pew. Fill it out and drop it in the offering plate when it is passed. Thanks! We like to be able to place names with the faces of potential friends!
We're in the second week of a sermon series on "Peace." Jesus came to give us peace in the midst of a storm. And there are a lot of storms in life! Conflict can be of hurricane strength! The Bible tells us how to have peace with God, and through Him, have peace with one another.
Many people like to avoid conflict at all costs. That may seem admirable on the surface but often it means they just deny or run away from problems. That's never a solution for real peace! We grow and mature by going through a trial God's way, not by avoiding or running away from them!
Peace was a priority of God even before we were created. That's why He sent His Son to die on the cross for our sins. Before asking the Lord to be our Savior and Master we were sinners, alienated from God and enemies of Christ. When we put our faith in Christ, His sacrifice for our sin, and were baptized into Him, we were reconciled to God. That same mercy and grace is ours and was meant to be lovingly poured out on others.
If God went to such lengths to offer us peace through the suffering and death of His Son, doesn't it stand to reason that we should work through conflict and seek reconciliation with others? (cf. Matthew 5:23, 24). (Reconciliation is defined as being brought back into a right relationship.)
Sadly, people would rather "write people off," run from problems and harbor unforgiveness instead of seeking to love and forgive just as He did for them! Hopefully, the hard, but beautiful truths of God's word and this sermon series will challenge us all to live at peace with God and each other the way He intended!

My Retirement
This has not been an easy decision to make, but it is with bittersweet feelings that after twenty-eight years on staff as office secretary (and as many years in a volunteer capacity before that) that I (and Charlie) are retiring from this position at the end of March 2010. It will be a difficult adjustment for us to make at first so please keep us in prayer. -Barb and Charlie
Peace Sermon Series
We're in the second week of an eight week sermon series on peace. This series coincides with an eight-week session of Peacemakers that is meeting on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Conflict in our lives can disrupt peace but as we will see over these eight weeks, conflict is an opportunity for us to grow in Christ and serve others as we seek to glorify God through it all.
Peacemakers is an eight week session that meets on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 p.m. in the office building Conference Room. The group is open this week if you'd like to join us for this vital study. You'll receive not only principles of peacemaking but also tools to apply them to daily life. Questions? See Earl, 451-5332.
Men's Breakfast this Saturday, March 6, 9:00 a.m. We meet in the Fellowship Hall Classroom #1. Questions? See Earl, 451-5332.

New Class: Mean Girls Gone is a Bible Study/ Group that I created to help girls in middle school and high school who may be being picked on or left out. The class is based off the book MEAN GIRLS: FACING YOUR BEAUTY TURNED BEAST By: Hayley DiMarco. The book, I feel, is jam-packed of good stuff that is sure to comfort and help anyone going through a Mean Girl problem. Our first meeting is today, Feb. 28th after church, at my house, 7636 Bridgetown Road. We will try to carpool to my house and we'll have lunch (pizza) and fellowship before we start our meeting. The actual class should last about 2 hours. For more information about this group or the meeting, please give me a call at 467-0919 (home), or you can call or text me at 378-5111 (cell). For your added convenience, a group has been made on Facebook called Mean Girls Gone Class. -Cindy
Friday Night @ Fred & Lori's
The next Friday Night at Fred & Lori's for teens will be Friday evening, March 19 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. Girls bring a 2-liter, boys bring a bag of chips.
Youth Group Updates
* The Believe weekend went very well with 8 Middleschoolers and 3 Adults attending. The focus of the weekend was on the Messiahship of Jesus.
* The YMCA All-nighter was a big success with Anderson Ferry bringing the largest group of teens out of all the churches involved. We brought a total 56 people and had a blast staying up all night together.
* The Wednesday Night Teens have donated money to help the Haitian people over the last two weeks. They have given a total of $212.00 out of their own pockets!
__________________________________________ Some Thankyous
We had two adults join Fred as sponsors for the Believe weekend. A big THANK YOU to Aimee Fay and Lori Ragland for helping oversee and guide our Middles Schoolers through the weekend.
We had four adults join Fred as sponsors for the YMCA All-nighter giving up their precious sleeping time to help oversee and spend time playing with our teens all night. A big THANK YOU to Aimee, Juli, Greg and Sonja.
Teen Creation/Evolution Class
Thank you to Bill & Marilyn Oehler for leading the teens through a class about Creation and Evolution Science. The class was originally planned to last six weeks and wound up be extended to eight weeks. This Thursday at 6:30 will be the last class in this series.
Van Drivers and Riders Needed
We have been picking up and taking home around 30 children each Wednesday night for Youth Groups. Having only one van that carries 14 passengers we have had to do this in two or three trips. This winds up causing some children to arrive late. We are working out a deal with Dave Yeggy to use his large Savannah as a second van so that we can get all the kids picked up at the same time and to Youth Groups on time. To do this we need additional Van drivers. If we could get three more people to volunteer as drivers then no one will wind up having to drive every week.
We also need an additional adult riding in each van to make sure the children are buckled up and behaving themselves. We still have no riders for the church van and will now need more for the second van.
Please consider committing a couple Wednesday's a month to drive or ride in a van as part of your service to God. We would greatly appreciate your help. If you would like to volunteer in one of these capacities please see Fred. You can call him at 300-0819 or 451-5330 or email him at fredragland@current.net, or if you are on Facebook you can contact him on his homepage.

Find Somebody Who Needs Ya
Woke up this mornin' I was feelin' glum.
My toothy grin had gone completely numb.
And then it hit me just like a shot.
Find somebody who needs ya!
You can't get happy just sittin' around.
So find somebody who's feelin' down.
Say, "I'm here to help you however I can!"
Find somebody who needs ya!
They say you make a livin' with what you do,
and that's just fine.
But you make a life by what you do for others,
and that's the bottom line.
You smack a homer, you ace a test.
You're bound to feel like you're the very best.
But there's a feeling that beats all the rest.
Find somebody who needs ya!
They say you make a livin' with what you do,
and that's just fine.
But you make a life by what you do for others,
and that's the bottom line.
So let's get happy, quit sittin' around.
Let's find somebody who is feelin' down,
say we're here to help ya,
however we can!
Find somebody who needs ya!
Find somebody who needs ya!
Find somebody who needs ya!
Find somebody who needs ya!
